World of Tanks – new PVP oriented MMO game

World of Tanks is new MMO action game announced just recently by WARGAMING.NET. The game would be focused mainly on PVP battles with wide range of modes like quick random battles, mini-missions, clan wars and more.
World of Tanks is promised to be free to play so I presume many people will try it. The game will feature variety of tank models from different historical events and countries.
Tiger tank, Soviet T-34, American 155mm M40 Gun Motor Carriage are some of the models mentioned on the press release.

Combat Arms is an online, free-to-play FPS game developed by Doobic Studios and published by Nexon. It is an addicting, fast-paced, strategic shooter with many customization options.

Players start in a lobby where they can join matches or create rooms and host a game.
Successful match brings experience and GP (Gear Points – in-game money). The experience is needed to obtain a higher rank (similar to real life army ranks), and players with higher rank can buy better weapons.

Combat Arms offers many different modes – One Man Army, Elimination, Quarantine, Fireteam. You may wonder what exactly these mode names mean – here is the list of modes and explanations for newbies:

• One Man Army – Free for All Deathmatch
• Fireteam – a cooperative, story-based game, something like team quest
• Elimination – team match. A team must reach an amount of points (kills) first.
• Elimination Pro – similar to Elimination but each player has only one life per round.
• Search and Destroy – similar to Elimination, but one team is in offense (place bombs and destroy the other team fascility) and the other must defend itself.
• Capture the Flag – popular mode in many FPS games.
• Spy Hunt – strange mode where players can become spies through obtaining a special item – Intel Case. All other players hunt the spies but the spies have some advantages like speed and special armor. This mode has a phase 2 where the spy is only one (the person, who has gathered all suitcases), but he is equipped with some powerful weapons to fight all the other players.
• Quarantine (Zombie mode) – Some of the players are chosen to be infected. They must infect all the other players, while the non-infected players must kill them or at least survive the match.
• Snowball fight – Christmas event mode.

The gameplay is fast and addicting. If you are FPS and Combat Arms newbie you may feel a little confused at the beginning but the game is easy to play and fun. I’ll write separate gameplay review after this post.

Tales Runner – fun, racing MMO with MMORPG elements

Tales Runner is unique, fast-paced MMO racing game where you can compete with your friends. The game is created by the Korean company Rhaon Entertainment and published by Gala-Net Inc.

Tales Runner is a racing multiplayer game, where you can compete by running, skiing, climbing and so on in a fantasy, 3D world.

Every time you participate in a race you receive experience points, TR (in-game currency) Alchemy Cards and other items. Alchemy Cards are used to upgrade the equipment. Each map has a set of cards and each card from the set has a percent probability to be obtained. Also during the race you can obtain power-ups and some of them can be used for attacking the other competitors.

The game has multiple game modes – single player race, basic race, survival races and more.

Demon Risng Preview

Yesterday, TQ team announced new expansion of the popular MMO Eudemons Online. The new expansion is called Demon Rising and will be launched on 11th December 2009.
The update will offer new maps, monsters and new graphics.

The announcement promises five independent story quests with big bosses at the end of each and some sub Bosses guarding them. The quests are marked as high difficulty. More about the new quests and Bosses can be found here.

Aion is a fantasy MMORPG released by NCSoft. It features a vast and detailed fantasy world with incredible sceneries, odd creatures and great adventures.



Races / Factions
Aion world has two playable factions – Elyos and Asmodians.
The Elyos are bright people or the good ones. They are bright and beautiful people living in a bright and beautiful world. Their country is known as Elysea and their capital city is called Sanctum.
The Asmodians are the opposite of the Elyos, dark characters from a dark world. They are the “bad” guys if you like how it sounds. Their skin is pale or dusky and their eyes have a strange glow. Their world is called Asmodae and their capital city is Pandaemonium.




Classes
There are four primary classes at the game – Warrior, Mage, Scout and Priest. At level 10 players can choose a specialization. Warriors can become Gladiators (skilled with many different weapons) or Templars (use sword and shield combination and chants). Scouts can become Rangers (skilled with bow) or Assassins. Mages become Spirit Masters (summoners) or Sorcerer. Priest becomes Cleric (healer and resurrector, can be useful in melee battle with mice and shield) and Chanter (Buffer).



World / Story / Lore
The world of Aion is a devastated planet called Atreia. After a cataclysm Atreia was broken in half. Players start as inhabitants of their chosen world and don’t meet players from other fractions until they enter the abyss.



The Abyss
After spending some time leveling players can enter and fight in the Abyss. The Abyss is a PvP zone, where players must fight players from the opposite fraction. Players receive special points called Abyss Points for defeating players from the other race. The Abyss rank of the player is calculated according to these Abyss Points. Also special weapons and armors can be purchased with them.
The guild or clan equivalent in Aion is called Legion. Legions can control special fortresses in the Abyss. The control over a fortress is obtained after a siege war (mass PvP war) where players fight against another players or NPC characters.



Specifics
You can’t really experience PvP or dungeon fight until level 25-30. Also you have a quest story line and the quests are very important for your character development.

Gameplay
The gameplay is a little diablo-2 style. Players move and use simple attack with left mouse click and use magic or skill with right click.
Classes/Jobs
It has three starting jobs - Wondering Knight, Wondering Archer and Scholar.
W. Knight's next class is Apprentice Knight, when the character learns the basic kill of knight. A. Knight has two paths for developing skills - offensive and defensive.
W.Archer - quickness and long distance attack. Their next job change is Apprentice Archer. A. Archers have powerful long distance attach, but they are considerably weak and need a party. Egg/Transformation
When you reach level 15 you can do a quest to get an egg. After that you must level up your egg to become grade 11. After that you can transform to an animal.
PVP/PK System
PvP(duel) starts after agreement of both parties and there is no penalty on winner or looser.
PK(Assassin) System A player who wants to be a PK must wear a mask to be known by others. Mask can be bought from the merchant in Temporary Fort of Geum-Ohee Castle and High Land of Sky. When the player became an assassin his/her name is not shown but the name changes to "assassin" in red and he/she can't disable assassin mode for 2 hours.

Eve Online is science fiction space MMOG by CCP Games. The action is set in distant space, players pilot wide variety of ships through thousands solar systems. The game is persistent - this means that anything that is left in game while player is offline such as undocked ships will continue to exist and will be visible and attackable to other players.

Gameplay
Eve Online is little confusing at a first glance. Considerably more time is needed to learn the interface compared with other games from the same genre. EVE don't have leveling system, which is replaced by a complex skill system with a wide variety of skills. To learn a skill characters must acquire skill learning kits and the training consumes amount of real time(players can spend that time offline). Some strange issue is that characters can purchase clones as a precaution against death. Activities in EVE can be combat, exploration, trading, mining, advancement, research, manufacturing and more.
Combat in EVE is highly tactical with different range weapons. Players can group together in corporations, the corporation creator and leader(a.k. party leader) is titled Chief Executive Officer - CEO. Corporations also have some other roles like Director, Station Manager and so on. Corporations can declare war to other corporations. Also some spicy piece is added with the corporate spies.
Races in Eve Online are Amarr, Gallente, Caldari, Jovians.
